It was surprising to see Kolkata Knight Riders release Chris Lynn this season, despite performing decently for the side. But the move was understandable as Lynn cost them a whopping INR 9.4 crore and maybe the return he was giving wasn’t meeting their expectations. The rumour has it that the Knight Riders will definitely go back for him at a cheaper price tag.

Lynn notched 495 and 401 runs in the last two seasons and his strike-rate is always above the 140-mark. Without a debate, he is one of the best openers available in the auction and there are teams in dire need of a talent like him. If he can end up playing a good 10-15 overs, he has the talent to capture half the game for his side.

It’ll be interesting to see if franchises still look at him with the same awe. Besides the usual suspects in Kolkata Knight Riders, the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians could attempt to win his services. It’ll be tough for him to go under a price of INR 6 Crore going by the current availability and circumstances.
