Jofra Archer has a special relation with social media, especially Twitter. He has tweeted so many things previously which have relevance since the World Cup last year. Almost for every happening in the mega event, the pacer had tweeted around 4-5 years ago. Hilariously, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is also finding resemblance with his tweets now.
Archer is playing for the Rajasthan Royals this season as well and the team started its campaign against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday. And they batted superbly to post 216 runs on the board after 20 overs. They were able to cross the 200-run mark due to Jofra Archer as the fast bowler showed his batting prowess in the final over off Lungi Ngidi.
Ngidi kept dishing length deliveries at pace and Archer kept hitting him out of the ground. The over went worse for CSK as the bowler overstepped twice and at one stage, had conceded 27 off only 2 deliveries in the over. However, Ngidi came back well to go for only three runs in the last four balls to limit the damage.
What was Jofra Archer’s old tweet?
Interestingly, Jofra Archer had tweeted ‘6666’ way back in January 2015 and it went viral as soon as he smacked four back to back sixes in Sharjah. Twitterati is in splits after knowing about the cricketer’s tweet and it remains to be seen if Archer’s account has anymore surprises for the cricket fans in the near future. An even more hilarious was his other tweet which read, “30 an over?” as exactly those many runs were scored off the over.

Jofra Archer remained unbeaten on 28 off 8 deliveries thanks to those four maximums from him as the Royals posted a daunting total of 216 runs in their 20 overs. Apart from his knock, Sanju Samson and Steve Smith had put on a carnage earlier in the innings. The former was in the mood to break records on the day and went on to slam the second joint-fastest half-century off 19 deliveries.
Smith also scored 69 off 47 balls with four fours and as many sixes after opening the innings. A total of 17 sixes were hit in the innings as CSK bowlers had no idea what hit them.
