IPL 2020: Match 55, DC vs RCB – Match Impact Ratings

Delhi Capitals got the better of Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday in Abu Dhabi but at the end of the day, both teams found a place in the playoffs. Chasing 153 to win, Delhi Capitals needed to score only 134 for getting into playoffs while Bangalore needed to stretch the game past 17.3 overs. An aggressive start by Delhi’s top three put them at 107/1 after 12.3 overs and had a chance to knock out RCB by scoring 46 in the next 29 balls. However, DC got only 29/3 in this period and let Bangalore also finish in the top four at the end of DC vs RCB only.

Bangalore’s top-order lacked intent yet again as they crawled to 82/2 in 12.3 overs. The Aussie opener Joshua Phillippe scored only 12 off 17 balls and finished with a negative impact of -9.06. Devdutt Padikkal was the top scorer for RCB with a 41-ball 50 but got an impact rating of only +3.51. The best obviously came from AB de Villiers bat who was clinical in lifting RCB over the 150-run mark. De Villiers struck three boundaries during his 21-ball 35 which got him an impact of +8.34 which is highest batting impact during DC vs RCB.

The half-centuries in the Delhi line up, Shikhar Dhawan (54 off 41) and Ajinkya Rahane (60 off 46) got a batting impact of only 6.27 and 4.14 respectively as per the CricTracker’s Match Impact Ratings. The highest match impact during DC vs RCB was registered by the player of the match Anrich Nortje only. The South African speedster finished with figures of 4-0-33-3 and ensured RCB didn’t post a big total. Nortje earned an impact of +8.55 for his bowling efforts which included the wickets of Padikkal and Morris.

Kagiso Rabada got back into the form with a couple of wickets after going wicketless in the previous two matches. Delhi Capitals could claim that they had a near-perfect game as only two players earned a negative impact during DC vs RCB. Skipper Shreyas Iyer got out scoring seven off nine balls which got him an impact of -4.10. Daniel Sams, who brought into the game to strengthened batting, started well with the new ball but finished with an economy rate of 10. This made the Australian end up with a bowling impact of -2.26.
