IPL 2020: Qualifier 1, MI vs DC – Match Impact Ratings

Impactful performances with both bat and ball powered an easy win for the Mumbai Indians.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians stand one step away from retaining the IPL title for the first time as they thumped Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in the first qualifier to reach the final. The match was all about impactful performances from both the teams but it was Mumbai who got an easy passing in the end. Jasprit Bumrah was the major difference between the two teams as the pacer claimed two wickets early on and a couple more towards the end. The 4-wicket haul helped Bumrah earn the highest impact rating during the MI vs DC.

As per the CricTracker’s Match Impact Ratings, the speedster earned an impact of +20.96 which is among the top three most impactful bowling performances of the tournament. The highest impact with the bat was recorded by Ishan Kishan with his unbeaten 55-run knock amidst a middle-over collapse of MI. The No.4 batsman earned an impact of +19.82 while his batting partner Hardik Pandya fetched +16.24 for the late cameo. Another special performance during MI vs DC was produced by the off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The DC opening bowler got rid of both Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard for a duck and finished with figures of 4-0-29-3 to earn a bowling impact rating of +9.10. Marcus Stoinis was easily the most impactful performer for Delhi Capitals with his 46-ball 65 after coming to bat with the team being 0/3. Earlier, Stoinis also bowled one over at the death and picked a wicket giving away only five runs. Delhi bowlers conceded well more than ten runs in three overs before and three overs after Stoinis’ sole over during MI vs DC.

The Australian all-rounder earned a match impact of +15.98 for his all-round efforts. Krunal Pandya also earned match impact rating of +7.12 during MI vs DC as his performance was probably an underrated one. The all-rounder played ten balls during the crucial phase after MI lost Surya and Pollard in successive overs. Krunal went on to recorded analyses of 4-0-22-1 and did pick up the crucial wicket of Rishabh Pant. He conceded only two boundaries in his four overs of which one was a yorker deflected through the keeper.
