Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals will lock horns in the second game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday (April 10). Both the teams will be looking to start their respective campaigns with a win. CSK and DC had contrasting journeys in the last edition of the IPL. CSK had a disastrous outing and they missed out on the playoffs for the first time in the IPL.

The MS Dhoni-led side struggled for consistency throughout the season and ended IPL 2020 at the seventh spot. They could win only 6 of their 14 league games. CSK would be desperate to make a strong comeback in IPL 2021. The three-time champions definitely know how to bounce back and would love to prove their critics wrong this year.

DC, on the other hand, made it to the final last year. It was the first time in the history of the IPL that the Delhi-based franchise made it to the title-decider where they lost to Mumbai Indians. DC would be looking to build on the success. However, they will have to do it without their captain Shreyas Iyer who is out of the entire tournament with a shoulder injury.

Players mentioned below can provide you an upper hand or can be considered as multipliers in your Dream11 fantasy team:

1. Faf du Plessis

Faf du Plessis was just one of the few positives in an otherwise dismal IPL 2020 for CSK. While most of his teammates struggled to score runs consistently, the former South Africa skipper looked class apart. He finished IPL 2020 as CSK’s highest run-scorer, scoring 449 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties. He was the only CSK batsman to touch the 400-run mark last year. Du Plessis will be an integral part of the team once again this year and would be looking to start the season on a high.

2. Rishabh Pant

For the first time in his career, Rishabh Pant will be leading an IPL team. Pant could not have asked for a better team than his home team to start his captaincy career with. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been in stunning form with the bat this year and will be looking to make the most of it. DC’s fortunes will depend a lot on Pant’s performance this year and the captain would definitely love to make a strong start to his campaign.

3. Ravindra Jadeja

Apart from de Plessis, Ravindra Jadeja was another positive for CSK last year. He was the fourth highest run-scorer for CSK last year. But more than the runs, it was his strike-rate that impressed the most. In 14 games, he scored 232 runs at an average of more than 46 and a strike-rate of almost 172. Jadeja could play the role of the finisher for CSK this year. He also picked up 6 wickets. Having not played a game since the Sydney Test in Australia due to an injury, Jadeja would be looking to hit the ground running on Saturday.
