Rajasthan Royals didn’t get off to an ideal start in IPL 2021 as they lost their first match against Punjab Kings by four runs. The skipper Sanju Samson scored a brilliant 119 runs off 63 deliveries. However, his knock was overshadowed by KL Rahul’s 91 and Deepak Hooda’s 64 runs.

The Royals finally managed to have a win under their belt as they outplayed the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by three wickets. It was a comprehensive performance by RR as they are placed in the fifth position on the points table. The team will now lock horns against Chennai Super Kings at the same venue on April 19, Monday.

Here’s RR’s Predicted Playing XI for IPL 2021 Match 12:

Openers (Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra)

Just like the previous game against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals are expected to go with their opening pair of Jos Buttler and Manan Vohra. Both the players didn’t have an ideal outing in the previous game as they failed to essay the job of giving the team a good start.

Against DC, Buttler scored just two runs off seven deliveries while Vohra also marched back to the pavilion after adding nine runs to the scoreboard in 11 deliveries. However, both the players are expected to forget the demons of the previous game and be at their fluent best against CSK.

Middle Order (Sanju Samson (C and WK), Shivam Dube, David Miller)

Sanju Samson became the first batsman to score a century in IPL 2021 as he smashed 119 runs off 63 deliveries in RR’s first game against Punjab Kings. This was followed by the batsman getting out on four runs against DC. But Samson will be looking forward to continuing his good form and help the Royals win the next game.

Shivam Dube is yet to deliver good performance in IPL 2021 as he has experienced a disappointing run in the tournament thus far. However, the management is likely to back the Indian all-rounder as he has the ability to hammer the ball for fours and sixes.

David Miller, played his first game in IPL 2021 against DC as Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the tournament.  Miller made the most out of the opportunity provided to him as he played a match-defining inning of 62 runs off 43 balls. Miller’s innings made all the difference in the game and RR managed to emerge victorious by three wickets against the Capitals.

All-Rounders (Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris)

Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia were revelations for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020 as they were highly impressive owing to their power-hitting abilities. However, both the players are yet to show their magic with the willow in IPL 2021 and RR will hope that they regain their form in the next game.

Chris Morris justified his hefty paycheque in the last game against Delhi Capitals as he scored 36 runs off 18 balls to take the Royals home while they were chasing 148 runs posted by Capitals.

Bowlers (Jaydev Unadkat, Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman)

Playing his first match in IPL 2021 against DC, Jaydev Unadkat bowled a magical spell as he returned with the figures of 4-0-15-3. The debutant Chetan Sakariya has also looked in good form with the ball in the tournament thus far.

Mustifizur Rahman, on the other hand, also played a match-defining role in the game against DC as he picked two wickets while giving runs at an economy rate of 7.2.
