The banter between former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris and Chennai Super Kings saw another new feather getting added to it. Styris received a face mask from Chennai Super Kings and he took a picture wearing it. A couple of weeks ago, there was the banter between Styris and CSK’s social media team ahead of the IPL 2021.

The former cricketer made a ranking list for the IPL 2021 with his picks for specific positions. He said that he is expecting that Mumbai Indians will win the tournament while Chennai Super Kings will be the wooden spooners. After this tweet came out, Styris received a reply from the Super Kings’ social media.

With a tweet, they reminded the former blackcaps player that he was once a player of the franchise. Styris played for the Chennai Super Kings in the 2011 season. Interestingly, that was the season when they won their second title on the trot.

CSK’s social media team posted an image of Styris from the 2011 season, and wrote a caption, which read, “Ex-machi, why machi? Yellove Machi?’ In Tamil, Machi is someone you want to address with affection, like a brother or a friend.

After this, Scott Styris uploaded a tweet replying to the CSK’s tweet. He apologized with a GIF in which there was an apology. It read, “I sincerely apologize.” Apart from this, there was a caption which was written. It read, “I consider myself reprimanded. Super coach @SPFleming7 has already told me off.” Styris shares a good relationship with CSK coach Stephen Fleming, who is his former International captain.

On Wednesday, the banter continued as Styris posted a picture on his official Twitter handle with the mask which was gifted to him by his former franchise. The New Zealander thanked the franchise for the gift. The yellow mask had CSK’s tagline, Whistle Podu printed on it. Styris wrote a caption, “Thank you @ChennaiIPL for the gift!!! My life is complete.”

Scott Styris had a brief stint at the Indian Premier League. He featured for the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in the first three seasons, playing 10 matches in total. In the 2011 IPL season, he played only two matches for CSK. The ex-cricketer is often seen in Star Sports’ shows.
