The IPL 2022 has just reached its halfway stage. A debutant- GT and underdogs RCB are the current table toppers. The heavyweights like MI, CSK, and DC are placed at the bottom of the points table.

In this IPL, even the retained players of many franchises have drastically underperformed. Big names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma collectively just average around 20 in the ongoing season. However, the uncapped young talent has been the biggest positive trait of IPL 2022.

Overall, amidst players who are retained or bought, a few individuals have already resulted in blunders for their franchises. Therefore in this list, let’s check out these 5 names who have stumbled badly in IPL 2022.

1. Matthew Wade (GT)

Matthew Wade proficiently made his IPL comeback based on his 2021 World T20 heroics. The cricketer who can flexibly bat anywhere in the top seven seemed to be an undervalued T20 commodity. However, his current stint with GT has been very disappointing.

For the Gujarat franchise, Wade is also their ace overseas batter along with David Miller. So far the southpaw has just accumulated 68 runs in his five appearances. By exhibiting an average of 13.6, the gloveman has raised many question marks regarding his IPL 2022 selection. Maybe, the Gujarat management could have shopped a better proportion than Matthew Wade instead of spending INR 2.4 crore on him.

The 34-year-old had also missed the last game against CSK. Unfortunately, if Wade’s malfunction further continues then it will become one fly in the ointment of GT’s triumphing season.
