The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be making their debut in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 28th March 2022. The KL Rahul-led outfit will meet another debutant, Gujarat Titans (GT), in the fourth match of the tournament.

Openers: KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock

The experienced duo of KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock will open the batting. Rahul averages over 45 in his IPL career and has scored 3273 runs in the league. The right-hander also won the Orange Cap in the 2020 edition of the tournament.

On the other hand, De Kock is a match-winner on his day. The South African wicketkeeper-batter has amassed 2256 runs in his career and has scored his runs at a strike rate of 130.93. De Kock will prove to be the ideal foil for Rahul at the top.

Middle Order: Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, and Deepak Hooda

The big-hitting Evin Lewis will walk in at number three. Lewis can clear any boundary on his day and is a batter who can score quick runs. Lewis’ strike rate of close to 140 is a testament to the damage that he can inflict on the opposition.

The experienced Manish Pandey and right-hander Deepak Hooda will occupy the number four and number five slots, respectively. Pandey has featured in over 150 matches in his IPL career and has plundered 3560 runs in the competition. Deepak Hooda can rip apart the opposition if he gets his eye in. All Rounders: Krunal Pandya and Krishnappa Gowtham

Krunal Pandya and Krishnappa Gowtham are the two all-rounders whom the Lucknow side are expected to field for this match. Krunal brings with him an experience of 84 IPL matches. The left-hander has scored over 1000 (1143) runs with the willow and has also scalped 51 wickets as well.

Krishnappa Gowtham can stem the flow of runs in the middle overs with the ball and is also capable of striking those aggressive blows with the willow as well. Gowtham has taken 13 wickets and scored 186 runs in IPL cricket.

Bowlers: Ravi Bishnoi, Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot, Avesh Khan

The four bowlers who will complete the line-up are Ravi Bishnoi, Andrew Tye, Ankit Rajpoot, and Avesh Khan. Bishnoi can be the X-Factor for his side, and the leg spinner was picked by the Lucknow side even before the IPL mega auction, for INR four Crores. His ability to pick wickets makes him a match-winner.

Andrew Tye has played 27 matches and has scalped 40 wickets in his IPL career. His subtle changes of pace and his accuracy make him useful at the death. Ankit Rajpoot is a bowler blessed with a lot of pace and can also generate extra bounce off the deck.

And, finally, Avesh Khan is a bowler who can trouble any batter on his day. He has taken 29 wickets in his IPL career at a strike rate of below 20 (18.83). The Super Giants spent a hefty sum of INR 10 Crores to procure his services in the mega auction this year.
