Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will be facing each other in the 50th match of IPL 2022, to be played at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. While DC lost both their playoff matches after topping the group stage table last season, SRH finished at the bottom place then. So far in IPL 2022, DC has won four and lost five matches, while SRH has won five and lost four matches. Both teams have been unbeaten at Brabourne Stadium this season, with DC winning three and SRH winning two matches at the ground. The teams will be facing each other first time this season.
Although openers Prithvi Shaw and David Warne out for single-digit scores in DC’s last match, they have done an impressive job overall. The captain Rishabh Pant despite not scoring a fifty this season has consistently played useful knocks for the team. The bowling in DC’s last match was quite different from the usual, as Shardul Thakur who was in a miserable form, took all the three wickets taken by the DC bowlers. Axar Patel, Mustafizur Rahman, and Kuldeep Yadav have put up impressive performances for the team with the ball.
The main issue with the SRH batting is Kane Williamson being unable to either be consistent or to score the runs quickly. Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, and Rahul Tripathi have been in good form with the bat. Though SRH were consistent in the first half of the season with the ball, they had only one wicket-taking bowler in both their last two games. The entire bowling unit needs to step up in order to return to winning ways.
