Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Kolkata Knight Riders on March 30 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. While Kolkata Knight Riders began their IPL 2022 campaign with a win, Royal Challengers would like to open their account. Last season, both the teams finished with 18 points in the group stage after which KKR finished as the runners-up while RCB couldn’t progress beyond the Eliminator.

Coming to this season, both teams had a good start with the bat, while only KKR could show it with the ball as well. RCB lost only two wickets while KKR lost four wickets, which are the fewest by any side in the tournament so far. With Ajinkya Rahane for KKR and Faf du Plessis for RCB, both teams had a newly recruited opener who did the major scoring along with plenty of support from the middle order. The difference is, however, RCB have a lost high-scoring game against Punjab Kings while KKR have chased down a low target comfortably against Chennai Super Kings.

For RCB, new skipper Faf du Plessis continued his phenomenal form to score 88, and a Dinesh Karthik cameo helped them post 205. RCB’s inability to put pressure on a solid Punjab Kings top-order and their familiar death over problems couldn’t help them win despite such a huge total.

On a livelier Wankhede pitch, Umesh Yadav took the help of swing offered and rocked down CSK’s batting line-up, after which three further wickets restricted the defending champions to 61/5. Despite a vintage fifty from MS Dhoni, KKR chased down 132 without any pressure.

Here’s a look at some of the important stats and numbers ahead of Match 6 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2022:
