IPL 2022: Rating performances of teams in the third week

5. Rajasthan Royals – 8/10

The Royals came to the top position in the points table after securing a victory in the first fixture of the third week. However, they slipped to second after facing a loss in the second one. Overall, the team has been impressive but has to improve their death bowling and the middle-order needs to be consistent with their performances.

In the first fixture against Super Giants, they posted a total of 165 runs, with Shimron Hetmyer scoring 59 off  36 balls. It was a terrific effort from Trent Boult to take two wickets in the first over, while Yuzvendra Chahal picked up four wickets, and debutant Kuldeep Sen kept his calm in the last over to help the team secure a victory by three runs.

In the second league match against the Titans, the team was without Boult, and thereby the opposition managed to score 192. In response, the Royals started in a strong fashion with Jos Buttler contributing 54 off 24 balls. In the middle-order, Hetmyer tried hard with 29 off 17 balls but the team lost by 37 runs.
