The coronavirus pandemic has taken a toll on the world of late. The COVID-19 has been wreaking havoc for quite a while and the situation doesn’t seem like improving any time soon. The world has gone into a lockdown and people are being quarantined. Directives of staying at home, staying healthy, using hand sanitizers have been circulated. The number of cases and death tolls are increasing briskly.
Nations like China, Italy and Iran have been deeply affected. The sporting fraternity has also been affected to a significant extent. In India, the coronavirus cases have gone above 320 and the death tolls have reached seven. Maharashtra, Kerala are the most affected in India. Various organizations around the world have been giving away work from home in wake of the deadly virus.
A few days ago, Narendra Modi, the Honourable Prime Minister of India, announced that on March 22, 2020, India would be performing the Janata Curfew. The PM also urged the netizens to laud the efforts by the doctors, who have been working by the clock for the improvement of the overall situation. Modi said that people should be coming out to their balcony at 5 PM and clap for them.
Irfan Pathan’s unique way
In the meantime, Irfan Pathan, who retired from cricket back in January this year, shared a video on Twitter. There he can be seen celebrating the Janta Curfew with his elder brother Yusuf Pathan. He used a famous dialogue, featuring the legendary Late Amrish Puri. He captioned the video and wrote, “Enjoying #JantaCurfew @iamyusufpathan,”

Pathan was recently a part of the India Legends in the Road Safety World Series, which also had to face the wrath of the coronavirus. Irfan made his debut back in the early 2000s and impressed in the tour of Australia. Then he picked up a Test hat-trick in Pakistan that brought him in the limelight.
He was also the Player of the Match in the 2007 T20 World Cup final in South Africa. But from there on, his career capsized and steadily he went out of selection. On the other hand, Yusuf is still plying his trade for his domestic team Baroda, though he went unsold in the 2020 auction of the IPL.
