English wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler had a phenomenal run in the 2018 edition of the IPL. The hard-hitting batsman had a very quiet time in the first half of the season when he batted in the lower order. His team, the Rajasthan Royals, also had a rough run in the same phase. The team management then decided to promote Buttler to the opening slot and the fortunes changed big time for the batter and the team.

Jos Buttler went on to score five consecutive fifties in the tournament. He equaled the record for most number of consecutive fifties in the IPL history. He equaled the feat achieved by Virender Sehwag in 2012. Buttler was very close to breaking the record as well but fell short of his sixth consecutive fifty.

Also, he was unfortunate to have not played the playoffs for his side. He had to make an early exit from the competition owing to his national duties. He was picked in the England squad to play against Pakistan in the Test match series between the two nations. All in all, he took some great memories with him from the IPL 2018 season.

Favorite IPL stars

In a video for the Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler was asked some rapid fire questions by anchor Rochelle Rao. The video was uploaded by the official social media handle of the Rajasthan Royals. Among the various questions that came his way, the one that stood out was about his favorite cricketer. He was asked to name the cricketers who he looks up to in the IPL. Without any hesitation, Buttler named Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

He noted that being a wicketkeeper, he admires MS Dhoni. And as far as Kohli is concerned, the way the Indian captain is taking his game to the next level time and again is very impressive. When asked to pick a bowler who he thinks is very challenging, Buttler named Jasprit Bumrah to be the one. On a different note, he was asked if he is liking the Indian food. Buttler responded back by saying he is loving the paneer dishes and the curries.
