The Australian Cricket is currently going through its one of the worst times due to the sudden transition period brought up by the ugly ball-tampering controversy. Former Australian skipper Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner, who were the two mainstays across the three formats have been handed 12-months ban and young Cameron Bancroft has been slapped with a 9-month ban.

In the fallout, Darren Lehman also stepped down from the helm of affairs after which Justin Langer was appointed the head coach by Cricket Australia (CA). However, former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist does not agree with the ideas of the new head coach to redesign Australian cricket.

In a bid to bring in a change in the behaviour and attitude of players, Langer emphasized on discipline and an honest system for the players to behave well on and off the field. He also mentioned that the players will continue to play the tradition hard and aggressive way of cricket on the field that has been seen with the Australian cricket in the past years. Gilchrist reckoned that Langer wants players to follow principles like honesty and humility.

“Langer, as you’ve heard, wants honesty and humility,” said Gilchrist during his recent appearance on Fox Sports’ ‘Back Page Live’.

Gilchrist recited the whole emphasis laid by his former teammate as an aim to make the Australian players good enough so that they can marry his daughters. The wicket-keeper batsman revealed that he heard one of Langer‘s statements of making the cricketers eligible to marry his daughters. On a lighter note, he also went on to mention that the new head coach has four daughters, for whom he is considering these changes in players.

“Actually, I’ve heard him say he wants his players to be good enough blokes that he would consider allowing them to marry his daughters. He’s got four daughters – so that’s the selection process going on,” added the former Australian cricketer in his recent statement on taking the things on a lighter note.
