Kevin Pietersen has had his fair share of problems in recent times given his massive and stringent relationship with the fans and the media. However, the relationship between him and British tennis player Daniel Evans became much worse when the 36-year old denied Evans a selfie in a restaurant in Australia. Both sportsmen are in Australia at the moment fulfilling their respective sporting commitments.

A few tweets from Pietersen and Evans including a post-match presser comment from the latter helped many piece together a story on the ordeal. Initially, it was Evans, a groupie of Pietersen who went ahead and requested the former England batsman for a selfie, something Pietersen reacted to in an aggressive manner. However, with Pietersen not in his best of wits after gulping down a few drinks, the batsman handed off Evans as well.

However, with Pietersen not in his best of wits after gulping down a few drinks, the batsman handed off Evans as well. At the moment, it would seem as though Evans and Pietersen are not the greatest of mates given the incident. Moreover, Pietersen also has seemingly lost out on a fan as well.

At a post-match press conference, Evans revealed, “There was some serious rage for about 20 minutes after that happened. He didn’t want me to have my picture with him. Quite funny, isn’t it, how things work out? He was my favorite cricketer until that point. I think he was worse for wear, That was his excuse when he replied (later on Twitter). It was so embarrassing, as well. He didn’t even just say, ‘No’. He handed me off, as well.”

Evans claimed, “Wondering what is going to happen to his image. That’s probably the only reason he did it.”

There was also a bevy of tweets between Kevin Pietersen and Dan Evans after that with the former England batsman offering the 26-year old Tennis star tickets to the BBL game in Melbourne. Evans shot to fame and prominence after defeating Marin Cilic in the second round of the Australian Open 2017.
