Kolkata’s Woodlands hospital issues official statement on Sourav Ganguly's health and treatment after he tested positive for COVID 19

As per the BCCI sources, Ganguly was admitted to the hospital after his RT-PCR test report turned out to be positive.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly was tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday night, December 27. He was admitted to Kolkata’s Woodlands hospital and it was reported that he is in a stable state currently. His reports came in the night and thus former India skipper is in isolation now.

A BCCI source had previously opened up on the same. As per the sources, Ganguly was admitted to the hospital after his RT-PCR test report turned out to be positive. However now, the Woodlands hospital has issued a media statement to provide an update on his health.

According to the statement, Ganguly received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night. It also named the doctors who are currently examining his health status.

“Mr. Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President, and former Indian Cricket captain got admitted at Woodlands Multispecialty Hospital on December 27, 2021, late evening with Covid positive status.

He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night and is currently haemodynamically stable.  A medical board comprising Dr. Saroj Mondal, Dr. Saptarshi Basu, and Dr. Soutik Panda in consultation with Dr. Devi Shetty and Dr. Aftab Khan is keeping a close watch on his health status,” the statement read.

Earlier, Ganguly’s wife had opened up on his current situation. She stated that he had a mild fever and sore throat from Sunday. She added that post that he was immediately isolated and the test was done. His wife also asserted that the BCCI president is doing fine and all his health parameters are fine as well.

“He is fine and all his health parameters are fine right now. He has no other complications. Sourav had a mild fever and sore throat from Sunday. He was immediately isolated and the test was done.

Snehasish-da (his brother) had Covid last year. My parents, my mother-in-law also had Covid. Several of our houses helps had also tested positive at different times. It is not as if Covid erupted suddenly in the family. Moment Dada had just a hint of fever, he was immediately isolated. Maybe that is why Sana and I tested negative,” said his wife Dona Ganguly.
