Lahore Qalandars’ promising find Salman Irshad, who was spotted by the scouts during the player development program, has been on fire in Australia’s domestic circuit. Salman, 22, was spotted during the open trails conducted by Qalandars in Asad Kashmir for the Jazz Rising Stars. He was tagged as one of the most prized find during the camp.
Australian cricket club Hawkesbury had recently signed him up during the cricketer’s visit to Australia. He made his match debut down-under and scalped a five-wicket haul on Saturday. Playing in the NSW premier cricket, second-grade tournament, Salman rocked the University of New South Wales as he restricted them to 189/7 and ended up with figures of 5/46 in 14 overs.
Out of his five wickets, three of the dismissals were bowled while one was trapped in front (LBW). It clearly shows the kind of accuracy he poses, and the line and length he bowled during the game. CEO of Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana was over the moon as he felt it is the result of the talent hunt that was conducted. “It’s the success of our rising stars program that players picked on merit are performing at every level,” Rana told Geo.tv
