The most successful Captain in World Cup history with 24 successive wins is Australia’s Ricky Ponting. Ponting led Australia to 2 World Cup triumphs in 2003 and 2007 while winning the 1999 World Cup as a player. Ricky Ponting led Australia to 24 straight wins from 2003 World Cup right through the 2007 World Cup triumph right until the loss to Pakistan in 2011 World Cup group game.
Ponting himself made great contributions to his team’s victories making 140* in the 2003 World Cup finals.
