Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 will remain a special one for MS Dhoni as he returned to lead the Chennai Super Kings, as his team made a comeback to the league after two years. Critics had their questions about Dhoni’s batting and the CSK squad that was lined up with veterans. He answered them with his bat and produced destructive performances and led the team to their 3rd time to become the 2nd captain after Rohit Sharma to lift three IPL titles.

Here are all the stats and milestones that Mahendra Singh Dhoni in IPL 2018:

33 – Dhoni now holds the record for most number of stumpings in the IPL. He surpassed Robin Uthappa (32) with the stumping of Kane Williamson in the final.


146 – He went past Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 142 catches in the Twenty20 format which is a record among wicketkeepers. Dhoni broke the record with the catch of Manoj Tiwary in their final league match vs KXIP in Pune.


150 – The win in the final of the tournament was his 150th in the Twenty20 format as captain. Gautam Gambhir stands 2nd in the list with 98 wins having led his team in 170 Twenty20s.


219 – He surpassed Kamran Akmal’s (215) record for most dismissals as wicketkeeper in the T20 format. Dhoni went past Akmal’s tally with the catch of Ravichandran Ashwin in the game against KXIP in Pune.


3726 – He became the highest run-getter as a captain in the IPL surpassing Gambhir’s tally of 3518 runs in the game against DD in Pune. Virat Kohli (3546) also went past Gambhir’s tally as captain in the IPL.


4016 – Dhoni completed 4000 runs in the IPL during their last league match against KXIP. Thus, he became the 7th player and the 6th Indian to complete the milestone.


5256 – He also became the first player to score 5000 runs in the Twenty20 format as captain. He reached the milestone during the game against RCB in Bangalore.


5760 – Dhoni now holds the record for scoring the most number of runs as a wicketkeeper in Twenty20s. He surpassed Kumar Sangakkara’s tally of 5495 during the game against KXIP in Mohali.


6032 – He completed 6000 runs in the Twenty20 format during the game against DD in Delhi; thus becoming the 6th Indian to achieve this milestone.
