Preview
In the fourth match of the PSL 2026, Multan Sultans (MUL) will take on Islamabad United (ISL). Multan Sultans had the worst performance last season, losing 9 out of 10 matches and finishing last in the points table. Steve Smith, who is playing for the first time in the Pakistan Super League, will be seen captaining Multan Sultans. Moreover, last season's captain, Mohammad Rizwan, will not be a part of their squad this season. Multan Sultan fans will have high expectations from Steve Smith this time around.
Smith’s international and considerable BBL experience could help his team put up a strong performance here. With match-winning players like Sahibzada Farhan Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammed Wasim, Shan Masood, Ashton Turner, Josh Phillips, Multan Sultans can also be expected to perform well this season.
On the other hand, Islamabad United had a stellar performance last season, winning six out of ten matches to finish second in the points table and qualify for the playoffs. However, they suffered a crushing 95-run defeat against Lahore Qalandars in Qualifier 2, ending their last season's run. But once again, under the captaincy of Shadab Khan, the team is ready to challenge all the teams with strength this season. Brilliant players like Devon Conway, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim, Dipendra Singh Airee, Chris Green, Mohammad Hasnain, and Sameer Minhas have the potential to take the team to the playoffs for sure.
