Team India’s new jersey for the ongoing limited-overs series has been the talk of the town. The Men in Blue took to the field after a gap of almost 9 months in a new shade of blue and the cricket world is just loving it. The new jersey has a darker shade of blue as the team shifted from the conventional sky blue colour that it has been wearing in recent years.

The jersey is also drawing a comparison with the 1992 World Cup and going by the reactions on social media, one can say that the cricketing fraternity is loving the retro-themed kit. And one can also say that the jersey’s popularity is not limited to the cricket world. USA’s Major League Baseball has given Team India as well as their fans a pleasant surprise by giving the new jersey ‘a baseball twist’.

On Monday, they posted a picture of India skipper Virat Kohli wearing the same jersey but with the ‘baseball twist’ on their official Facebook page. The batting superstar was holding a baseball in his hand in addition to wearing the full kit and was looking dashing.

Team India seal T20I series 2-0

Team India’s journey in the new jersey did not start well in Australia as they started the tour with two heavy defeats in the first two ODIs. However, the Virat Kohli-led side has bounced back in style after those losses. On Sunday, India won the second T20I to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. It was also India’s third consecutive win on the tour after those early two losses.

In the high-scoring game, India proved their batting might by chasing down 195 with two balls to spare. After Shikhar Dhawan (52) and Kohli (40) laid the foundation for the big chase, Hardik Pandya finished the game in style. The hard-hitting batsman scored an unbeaten 42 from just 22 balls. He scored the 14 runs needed in the final over in just 4 balls with the help of two sixes.
