Preview:
Malaysia finally managed to get better of Vanuatu in the last couple of weeks as they defeated the visiting team by 26 runs on Wednesday in the 3rd T20I. The 2nd T20I was also played earlier on Wednesday as the game that was scheduled to be played on Tuesday got abandoned and reserve day was used. Vanuatu went 2-0 up as they won that match by a 51-run margin.
Patrick Matautaava scored 52-ball 103 with 9 fours and 7 sixes as Vanuatu finished with 188/6 in their 20 overs. Malaysia were never comfortable in the chase and ended up with only 137/7. Later in the evening game, Malaysia posted 134/8, three less than their score in the 2nd T20I. However, their bowlers delivered and bundled out Vanuatu to just 108.
Weather Condition/Report:
We might have another troubling day at the Kinrara Oval due to the weather. There are good chances of rain during the match timings and it could be replayed or restarted on reserve day.
Pitch Condition/Report:
With both 2nd and 3rd T20Is played on the same day, the track became slower. The match played in the evening turned out to be a tough one for the chasing team. We could have a better track for the game on Thursday and a target up to 140 can be chased.
Average first innings score: 150 (T20I matches)
