Former England captain Michael Vaughan has been doing pretty well after retiring from cricket in 2008. He has turned cricket guru and has been amazingly popular on social media, especially on Twitter, where he is known for picking fights with fans over trivial issues and is a well-known troll. He also predicts winners of various matches from time to time.

Vaughan had an illustrious cricket career for England, making his debut against South Africa in 1999 and ending it with 5719 runs in 82 Test matches with 18 centuries and the best score of 197 at an average of 41.44. He also made 1982 runs in 86 ODI matches with the best score of 90* and 27 runs in two T20I matches as well. He led the England team to victory against Australia at home in the unforgettable 2005 Ashes series.

Michael Vaughan injures his leg in Australia

Michael Vaughan had made an appearance for the Sachin Tendulkar-Shane Warne’s All-Stars cricket in America and since then has been a part of the Fox Sports Australia broadcasting team for the Australian summer matches. He is currently down under in order to cover upcoming Australia vs Pakistan Test matches.

Meanwhile, his first day in Australia didn’t go well apparently. He shared a video of himself getting stitches on his leg after walking into a table and hurting himself. “Day 1 in Aussie going well .. Walked into a table !!!!! 4 stitches … #OnOn,” Vaughan captioned the post in which he can be seen making funny faces while a doctor sews his leg up.

Meanwhile, he was targeted some time back by Indian fans after he predicted the winners of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 tournament and took potshots at the pitches in India for South Africa and Bangladesh Test matches. Vaughan had bet his money on England or Australia to become victors of the 20-over competition down under next year. He had also called Indian pitches boring after South Africa lost two of the three-Test matches one-sided.

He also called Virat Kohli the best batsman in the world at the moment terming it as a no brainer, when a journalist asked him to pick between the Indian captain and Australia run machine Steve Smith. Both the batsmen are placed at the top two rankings in Tests with Smith having a narrow lead over Kohli, who is ranked no.2.
