Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is an exciting talent. Not all that massive in stature, the Bangladeshi cricketer has caught the eyes of one and all with his playful antics, amazing batsmanship and wonderful glove work behind the stumps. Having been associated with the Bangladesh side for some time now, Mushfiqur has seen the renaissance of Bangladesh cricket. He has also been a major part of the side that has been dragged right through the dark days of Bangladeshi cricket to finally see the light of day.

However, Mushfiqur became a fallen star following an infamous tweet. The tweet, that went live a few short hours after the Indians had knocked out of the World T20. It was an embarrassing situation for the Indians. The tweet read: “Happiness is this..!!!!! Hahahahahaha…!!!!!.” Moreover, the tweet was added with a selfie of Rahim posing in front of his television screen.

This infamous incident triggered an outpour on the popular social media handle. At the receiving end was Mushfiqur Rahim. He was receiving the brunt of criticisms from the Indian fans all over the world. The situation was going out of hand by the second. However, a few minutes later, Mushfiqur Rahim tweeted what seemed to be a retraction of sorts. The new tweet read: “Sorry to all of you guys…as I am a big West Indies supporter but anyway sorry again for some harsh words…!!!!”

He probably felt Darren Sammy’s side had earned revenge for the heartbroken Bangladeshi team and fans. However, little did he realize that such behavior was unbecoming of an international cricketer.

Here is the Tweet which he later deleted:
