There was a specific instance where Rahim also played the ball onto his stumps but the former captain was alert enough to not let it pass and rattle the woodwork.

There is no doubt that Mushfiqur Rahim is one of the most animatic cricketers on a cricket field. The former Bangladeshi captain- courtesy his grit, patience, and solid temperament- has proceeded to spearhead the country’s batting unit even when the more celebrated seniors refused to take responsibility under pressure.
Mushfiqur is now the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in Test match cricket and he brought up that milestone with a brilliant double-hundred against Zimbabwe at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
Mushfiqur scored a total of 28 boundaries in his marathon knock of 203* off 318 deliveries but it wouldn’t have been the case, had the right-hander not been vigilant and not avoided what can only be termed as a freakish dismissal.

Rahim unhappy with the timing of the declaration
This was Rahim’s third double-hundred for Bangladesh and the former keeper-batsman reckoned that it came on probably the easiest wicket- devoid of reverse-swing or any outrageous spin.
“This double-hundred was on the easiest wicket. They didn’t have much threat in their bowling attack. There was no reverse swing or any outrageous spin by a mystery bowler. I think this was an easier innings compared to the other two,” Mushfiqur Rahim said.
He added. “This time we got a good wicket, so we wanted to make the most of it. In the future, it may be a different wicket depending on the opposition, but as a batsman, I prefer this type of wicket.”
Bangladesh declared their innings at 6/560 but the former captain was not happy with the timing of the declaration as he felt, he could have completed his triple-century. The right-hander finished at 203* and was ably supported by captain Mominul Haq, who racked up a pristine 132.
Nayeem Hasan struck in the very first over with a double-wicket blow to the visitors. Hosts grabbed an innings and 106 runs victory in the only Test. For Zimbabwe, Craig Ervine was the leading run-scorer in the 2nd innings with 43.
