28-year-old Tom Westley, who has been included in England’s 13 man squad for the 3rd Test against South Africa has revealed his all time XI. Westley’s XI has some of the biggest names to have graced the 22 yards while he also included a few of his county members.

The Cambridge born batsman paired up former England Alastair Cook along with his Essex team mate Nick Browne as the two openers. Cook, who has been one of the greatest Test batsmen of the modern era, was not a tough choice for Westley while Browne’s all-round abilities might have prompted Westley to include him.

Out of the many legends available for the number 3 spot, Tom Westley handed the position to Jacques Kallis, who is considered as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time. With over 10.000 runs in both Test and ODIs, Jacques Kallis is a fit in any team. The middle order consisted of two gigantic names in the form of Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara. The incredible talent and batting abilities of these two gentlemen go without saying and their presence in the team makes it a massively solid one.

The lower middle order has two of his Essex team mates in the name of Ryan ten Doeschate and Matt Walker. Former England first class cricketer Graham Napier also found a place in the team because of his abilities with both the bat and the ball. Napier picked up a staggering 490 wickets in his first class career.

Arguably the greatest bowler this generation has seen, Dale Steyn, has been chosen by Westley to lead his bowling attack. The bowler with fire in his eyes and throbbing veins is an asset for every team he plays for while his bullet like speed can shatter the stumps behind the gutsiest batsmen. Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and Englishman David Masters were the last two pillars of the team to complete a pretty solid bowling attack.

The best XI:

Alastair Cook, Nick Browne, Tom Westley, Jacques Kallis, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, Ryan ten Doeschate, Matt Walker, Graham Napier, Dale Steyn, Harbhajan Singh, David Masters
