The last World Cup meeting between both sides took place in the round-robin fixture of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 at the County Ground in Derby on July 15, 2017. New Zealand skipper Suzie Bates won the toss and invited the Indian eves to have a bat. She finished with figures of 5/15 from her 7.3 overs at an economy of two including a maiden as the Black Caps were bundled out for a paltry 79 to hand India a comprehensive win by 186 runs as they qualified for the semifinals.
