One should never trust RCB's death-over bowling in his life: Virender Sehwag

Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore, in a dramatic Super Over, defeat Mumbai Indians at Dubai International Stadium to clinch their second victory in IPL 2020. The Bangalore side edged past Rohit Sharma’s men owing to Navdeep Saini’s brilliance with the ball in the Super Over.

Sharing his two cents on the game, former India opener Virender Sehwag has said that one should never trust RCB’s bowling unit. According to Sehwag, poor bowling display from Kohli’s men led to the match going into a Super Over.

“In life, you can choose whom you want to trust and not trust, but one thing that one should never trust in life is the death bowling of Royal Challengers Bangalore, because a match that they should have easily won, they took it to the Super Over,” said Sehwag as quoted by India Today.

Sehwag, who was known for his explosive batting style, was all-praise for young RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal. Sehwag said that he seems to be the batsman that the team needs at the top for the last couple of years.

Apart from Padikkal, Sehwag also lauded AB de Villers for his impressive batting show and Washington Sundar for his economical spell. Conceding just 12 runs in his four overs, Sundar bowled a vital spell and also plucked the wicket of MI skipper Rohit Sharma. In the end, Sehwag credited Navdeep Saini for delivering a match-winning performance in the Super Over.

“AB de Villiers seems to have just one goal while he is batting, and that is to smack the ball out of the stadium. Even though the batsman had scored above 200 runs, but the credit for the RCB victory should go to [Navdeep] Saini and [Washington] Sundar, otherwise RCB could have lost this game,” Sehwag further said.
