What a roller coaster ride it was for the past few days. Indian team’s journey through the tests has been relatively easier compared to the T20Is. Nevertheless, the team emerged victorious leading to a sixth consecutive T20I series victory.

Indian team’s performance recently has been commendable. The three to one series victory in the tests, the three to two series-winning performances in the T20Is have made us all forget our worries for a while. Be it Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s consistency and leadership skills, or Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav’s match-winning performances, or Shardul Thakur and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s magic spells, the team was incredibly skillful.

Team India’s experiments with the opening batsmen led to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma opening together in the 5th T20I. The two veterans proved to be a destructive duo and helped India secure the highest T20I total against India. Rohit Sharma became the second leading run-scorer in the T20Is after Virat Kohli with this series. Virat Kohli registered a record for the highest number of half-centuries as a captain surpassing the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, and also won the player of the match for the sixth time becoming the only person to have that record.

After such thrill rides, one might expect that the ODIs could fall short of excitement especially with the absence of Bowlers like Jofra Archer. But, this might just be the beginning because the visitors have been dominated at every step in the past two series and the ODIs might be their only chance of leaving the country with their head held high.

Though the England team failed terribly in the Test series, they have fought back quite well in the T20Is winning two out of the five matches. The English team currently occupies the first position in ICC T20I and ODI Rankings. The team had enough victories in its pocket in the past to show that it is not a force to reckon with. While that may have had little effect on India’s performance in the T20Is, it certainly helps boost the morale of the England team for the upcoming series.

England is reeling from a loss and would be motivated enough to secure at least one trophy of the three. Both the teams comprise incredible players and are dominant enough in the field. India is on a victory high with its confidence off the charts. It would be an act of madness for anyone to predict either team’s performance in the ODIs. So, who is going to emerge a victor?

We can never know unless we wait and watch.
