Match 38 of the Indian Premier League 2022 will witness a clash of the Kings as the Punjab Kings and the Chennai Super Kings will be up against each other for the second time in the tournament, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Their first encounter ended in favor of the Punjab Kings as they defeated Chennai by 54 runs.

CSK had started off the game well, but the bowlers failed to restrict the PBKS hitters, and CSK was given a task to chase 180 runs. Looking at the batting lineup, it looked like CSK could manage a victory, but the game slipped out of their hands when they lost their top-order and power-hitters within the powerplay.

PBKS have won four out of the seven games that they have played so far, whereas CSK has won only two. While the former have lost the last two games, CSK has one loss and a victory in their last two. PBKS faced a humiliating defeat against Delhi Capitals in their recent encounter, while CSK won a thriller against Mumbai Indians.

CSK has given a close competition in two of their recent games, and they have got a good combination of players now. If all the players contribute to the game equally, they have a chance of getting the upper hand against Punjab. While PBKS will look to regain their winning momentum and perform something similar to what they did in their previous clash against CSK, the Ravindra Jadeja-led side will seek revenge for their first defeat.

The Punjab batters are struggling to score, except for a few like Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma. Their bowling line-up is strong and the players can provide early breakthroughs for their team. CSK batters have put up some good performances in the past, and have the ability to score big for their side. The bowling unit has grown strong after Mukesh Choudhary showed a drastic improvement with the ball.
