After sharing some of the pictures of his wedding ceremony, Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah faced the wrath of criticism from his fans on Twitter. He posted pictures that carried the visual of him and his wife, Sanjana Ganesan during their wedding in Goa last week. The fans called the fast-bowler hypocrite, for not abiding by some words which he had written on Twitter some time back.
In the picture, we could see Jasprit and Sanjana walking as some of the people invited to their wedding stood on either side, bursting out crackers. The Twitterati seemed to be not pleased by this and called this act hypocrite. Bumrah had uploaded this picture to thank all the fans and well-wishers of the couple, from whom they have received wishes.
Bumrah wrote in the tweet, “The last few days have been nothing short of absolutely magical! We are so grateful for all the love & wishes we’ve received. Thank you.” However, as Bumrah posted this tweet, another old tweet of his got highlighted. The fans found out a tweet that Bumrah had uploaded more than three years ago.
Diwali celebration at home! 🎆 Wishing everyone a very Happy and a prosperous Diwali!💥🎆💥#saynotocrackers pic.twitter.com/koCbYkLJ4I

Twitter not pleased with Jasprit Bumrah’s latest tweet
In that tweet, the 27-year-old pacer had uploaded a picture of him and his family celebrating Diwali. In the caption of that post though, the fast-bowler had used a hashtag that was doing rounds on the internet and social media during the 2017 Diwali season. He wrote, “Diwali celebration at home! Wishing everyone a very Happy and prosperous Diwali! #saynotocrackers”
There have been many occasions apart from this one when we have seen celebrities and other famous personalities use hashtags like this. But, they have also faced harsh criticism when they themselves have not abided by that. Jasprit also faced a similar kind of thing as the Twitterati didn’t like that there was a usage of crackers at his wedding when he has tried to promote not using crackers.
Here’s how Twitter reacted
#saynotocrackers only during Deepavali!
Our celebrities turn into environmental activists only during Hindu festivals but their activism disappears during their own celebrations.
Dear @Jaspritbumrah93, practice what you preach! pic.twitter.com/7HnxXuxgWf

The Indian fast bowler has not been part of the Indian team at this moment. He took a leave of absence from the BCCI to get married in Goa. He last played in the third Test against England last month. On Friday, he was also not named in the three-match ODI series against England in Pune from March 23.
