All-rounder Tambe was quite phenomenal with both bat and ball and has a lot to offer to the side. Another youngster Rajvardhan Hargargekar who had a brilliant U19 World Cup is all set to miss the Ranji league phase for Maharashtra as he stated his unavailability due to personal concerns. The skipper of the India U19 side in the World Cup, Yash Dhull found a place in the Delhi squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.

Dhull hit a superb century in the semi-final of the World Cup against Australia and played a huge part in the successful run for India in the tournament. He is expected to be picked up in the IPL 2022 mega auction as well while Tambe and Ostwal have also registered in the auction.

Ankeet Bawane to captain the Maharashtra squad

Experienced campaigner Ankeet Bawane is all set to lead the Maharashtra side in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season 2021-22. Hard-hitting top-order batter Rahul Tripathi will be the deputy for Bawane and Maharashtra will be missing the services of their star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad who has been drafted into India T20I squad for the upcoming T20I series against West Indies.

Gaikwad was excellent in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021-22 where he finished as the highest run-scorer in the tournament and had an average of above 150.

Squad: Ankeet Bawane (Captain), Rahul Tripathi (Vice-Captain), Yash Nahar, Pavan Shah, Naushad Shaikh, Azim Kazi, Vishant More (wicket-keeper), Satyajeet Bachhav, Avdhoot Dandekar (wicket-keeper), Taranjitsingh Dhillon, Mukesh Choudhary, Ashay Palkar, Pradeep Dadhe, Divyang Hinganekar, Yash Kshirsagar, Vishal Gite, Nikit Dhumal, Siddhesh Veer, Manoj Ingale, Vicky Ostwal and Kaushal Tambe.

Maharashtra crashed out in the round 1 stages of the Vijay Hazare Trophy after finishing third in their group and they will need to pull out a better performance in the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.
