This Aamir Khan starrer movie was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and released in 2001. It was the best-ever piece directed by a Bollywood director with limited resources. The story potentially revolves around the poor conditions of Indians during British rule.

At that time cricket was the main sport of Simons whereas India didn’t know a single bit about it. But, a young individual took up the challenge to beat the Britishers in their own game. Indians worked hard and got some training about the rules from Elizabeth Russell, who was supporting Indians.

On the other hand, the stakes were quite high as the hosts would have to pay double taxes if they lost but that never happened. The Indians came out all guns blazing in the crucial game. And, ended up winning the last ball thriller on the back of Amir Khan’s individual performance. In the movie, the lead role was played by Aamir Khan (Bhuvan), Gracy Singh (Gauri) and many others.
