Ahead of the highly-anticipated four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting from December 17 in Adelaide, India received a massive boost as their ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is back to training with the Men in Blue after recovering from his injury. Jadeja had suffered a hamstring injury and concussion while batting during the first T20I against Australia and thus was ruled out of the whole T20I series.

Jadeja was in a red-hot form before his injury both with the bat and ball as he aptly essayed the role of a finisher and fifth bowler in the One Day series and a single T20I match that he had featured in for the visiting side on Australian soil. India had registered a defeat in the ODI series by 1-2 while they emerged victorious in the shortest format by 2-1.

On Tuesday, December 15, the official Instagram handle of Indian cricket team gave an update on Jadeja getting back to training. In the video posted on Instagram, Jadeja along with spinner Kuldeep Yadav and bowling coach Bharat Arun can be seen cutting the cake to celebrate their birthdays in the Indian dressing room at the Adelaide Oval.

While Jadeja had turned 32 on December 6, both Kuldeep Yadav and Bharat Arun had their birthdays on December 14 as they turned 26 and 58 respectively. The trio cut three separate cakes with the rest of the players and support staff cheering them on by singing the birthday song.

“Multiple birthdays call for a bigger celebration. @imjadeja is back with #TeamIndia and his cake was cut today along with @imkuldeep18 and Bowling Coach B. Arun,” the official handle of Indian team tweeted while posting the cake-cutting video.

On Monday, December 14, Jadeja had also given an update on his fitness via his official Instagram handle. In the short video uploaded on his social media handle, Jadeja could be seen lifting the weights as he trained hard while sporting the Indian jersey.

Jaddu had captioned the video as, “Recovery going well #trainingmode.”

Though the 32-year-old has returned back to training with the Men in Blue, it is yet to be seen if he has regained his full fitness and is ready to take the field for the pink-ball Test between Australia and India.
