Following the selection of the Indian squad for the upcoming series against England, Rohit Sharma has cleared the air on the reason for him being frozen out of the side. His former opening partner Shikhar Dhawan has also been picked in the side alongside Test match opener KL Rahul.

Rohit Sharma had been injured in the series against New Zealand whilst plying his trade in the limited overs side and had also gone down while batting. He was also seen recuperating many times in the comfort of a rehab center including a wonderful pool as well.

The recent selections for the ODI series against England has seen a few shocking selections in recent times. These selections include the likes of Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh returning back into the grand scheme of things. Moreover, there is also a shocker in the form of Rishabh Pant also entering the side ahead of a few others.

MS Dhoni and Ajinkya Rahane will captain the teams in the first and second practice matches respectively. This will be seen as a practice for both these batsmen who will be heavily involved in the ODI and T20I series as well. Virat Kohli will lead the teams in all three formats. Ravi Ashwin has fought off the sports hernia he was suffering from to be fit for the series as well.

Rohit Sharma has also gone on to state that he is eyeing a return in the upcoming home series against Australia provided everything goes well given his fitness and form as well.

Rohit Sharma’s Tweet read: “Guys thank you for all your concern I’m not fit yet but I am targeting the Australia series if all goes well. Thank you for the love.”
