Cricket Comedian Vikram Sathaye recently commenced season 2 of his online series “What The Duck”. Renowned Indian opener, Rohit Sharma, fresh off a third IPL triumph as captain with Mumbai Indians, was the latest cricketer to feature on his most current episode.

Revealing his funny side, and sharing the spills of the dressing room, Rohit adopted a cheerful and carefree demeanor at the show. In addition to justifying why he is called the “sleeping beauty” in the team, Rohit also revealed that calm, composed and emotionally dormant Ajinkya Rahane was kissed by an extremely passionate and enthusiastic Sri Lankan fan Percy Abeysekera when India had toured Sri Lanka in 2015 for a 3 match test series in which they emerged victorious.

“Uncle Percy approached the team in the dressing room. “While all the players were sitting together, he proclaimed his love for India and began to boast of having good knowledge of the Indian cricket team. When he approached us, we realized his intentions and pushed Ajinkya closer to Percy, who then kissed Ajinkya on his cheeks, while we made a video and circulated on social media,” Rohit said.

The twinkle in Sharma’s eyes was noticeable as he recounted this incident, the video of which is scarce on social media now. Rohit was also quick to defend his habit of sleeping a lot and failing to get up on time in the morning stating, “ I think about myself and my strategies for the next game in order to take India to victory,” which gets him so engrossed that he “thinks about his game the entire night” and hence finds it difficult to get up early.

In addition to revealing that he sleeps with his bats, Rohit subsequently took aim at his teammates who criticized him for not waking up in time for yoga and training by accusing them, stating, “They are the ones who sleep off without thinking about the game and that is why they get up on time.”
