Royal Challengers Bangalore unveil their new logo ahead of IPL 2020

RCB fans will hope that the new logo will change the fortunes of the team.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had kept its fans on the tenterhooks over the last couple of days. They had deleted the profile pictures and photos from their respective social media accounts. Also, to increase the excitement, the franchise had tweeted on Thursday urging the fans to brace themselves for something. As it turns out, the franchise has changed its logo and unveiled on Friday morning.

However, in the last 48 hours, various speculations were being made about the same. Rather a report read that the franchise is finally changing its name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It is understood that a section of local fans isn’t impressed with the team still keeping ‘Bangalore’ in its name. But it has been proved that it was a rumour and the RCB hasn’t changed its name.

Moreover, some of the RCB cricketers also tweeted about the deletion of the photos and the profile pictures which increased the hype around it. While Yuzvendra Chahal termed it as a googly from the franchise, the skipper Virat Kohli offered help if they needed. The likes of Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers were also left confused over the matter expressing themselves on Twitter about the same.

The new RCB logo is of a Lion returning to the Royal Lineage with a crown on his head. The franchise will be hoping that the new decade and the logo will change the fortunes of the team in the upcoming season. The fans will also be of the opinion that their team finally performs on the field when it is needed the most.

“Embodying the bold pride and the challenger spirit, we have unleashed the rampant lion returning him to the Royal lineage, creating a solid memory structure for your favourite team. New Decade, New RCB, and this is our new logo #PlayBold #NewDecadeNewRCB,” RCB wrote in a tweet unveiling the logo.

Interestingly they deleted this tweet but the logo is expected to remain the same now. However, in another tweet, they had already unveiled the logo.
