Pakistan seamer Rumman Raees is now out of contention for a berth in T20I series against Sri Lanka due to a swollen left elbow. Raees missed the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka which was held at Sharjah due to a troublesome elbow.

The left-handed pacer would also miss the final ODI series which again is scheduled to be held at Sharjah. Pakistan would look to whitewash the ODI series as they already lead the series by 4-0.

The officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been intimated that Rumman Raees replacement would be announced soon. It is learnt that Pakistan’s batting sensation Babar Azam has also been struggling with his groin which he pulled during the 4th match of the series. Moreover, Babar Azam is likely to take part T20I series as his injury is not supposed to be severe.

According to Dunya News, Pakistan’s premier fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who injured himself during the Test series, is all set to make a comeback in the T20I series, after being ruled out of the ongoing ODIs. Although, his participation in the series is subjected to fitness clearance.

The three T20Is will be played on October 26th and October 27th at Abu Dhabi whereas the final T20I is scheduled to be played at Lahore on October 29.

Many Lankans made themselves available for the Lahore T20I

Shortly after the news of seven Sri Lankan players pulling out of the third T20I scheduled to be held in Lahore, their Head coach Nic Pothas became the recent addition to the list of players making themselves unavailable for the tour.

Captain Upul Tharanga, Lasith Malinga, Niroshan Dickwella, Suranga Lakmal, Chamara Kapugedera, Milinda Siriwardene and Akila Dananjaya have already made it clear about their non-availability in Pakistan leg of the tour.

“Nic has informed the board that he is definitely not going to Lahore. The physiotherapist Nirmalan Dhanabalasingham has also indicated that he is not going while the trainer Nic Lee is still contemplating what to do. But six other support staff including myself are definitely going,” Sri Lanka’s Cricket Manager Asanka Gurusinha told Cricbuzz.
