Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and others congratulate Team India

India completed an emphatic victory over West Indies at Antigua to give a wonderful start to the Caribbean tour. The visitors beat Windies by an innings and 92 runs. Incidentally, this was India’s biggest win outside Asia with the previous win coming against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo in 2005.

Skipper Virat Kohli’s double century and Ravichandran Ashwin’s double whammy of a century and a seven wicket hauls laid the platform for India to win the game pretty easily under five days.

The team received wishes from all corners and the twitter was full of congratulatory messages from fans, present and former cricketers including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Bishen Singh Bedi.

Tendulkar congratulated Kohli, Kumble and off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who notched up a seven-wicket haul to set up India’s biggest margin of victory outside the sub-continent.

“Congrats to @imVkohli led #TeamIndia on a wonderful win. Great performance @ashwinravi99 & wonderful debut for @anilkumble1074. Keep it up!” Tendulkar wrote on his twitter handle.
