Sarfraz Ahmed as captain:
Sarfraz Ahmed created history last month when his inexperienced Pakistani side silenced their critics in outstanding fashion. Pakistan went to win the prestigious ICC Champions Trophy by beating India comprehensively in the finals. Ahmed became the second Pakistani captain to lay his hands upon an ICC trophy after the iconic Imran Khan won the World Cup in 1992. Coming onto bat first, heroics from Fakhar Zaman rode Pakistan to a gigantic total of 338 runs. The Pakistani bowlers did their job equally well as a rampant Mohammad Amir paired with Hasan Ali to bundle out the Indians for a mere score of 158.
Following the win, Sarfraz also received the honour of being the Pakistan Test captain after taking over proceedings from Misbah-ul-Haq.
