Saurashtra and Bengal are currently playing the final of Ranji Trophy 2019-20. The players of both the teams are giving their best to get their hands on the prestigious trophy, although Saurashtra managed to grab the first innings lead. Meanwhile, a player on the field was spotted doing black magic on the bat and gloves of Arnab Nandi. After that, the batsman managed to add only 12 runs to his score in the crucial game.

Earlier, Saurashtra won the toss and elected to bat first and posted a mammoth total of 425 runs. Arpit Vasavada played a brilliant knock of 106 runs and he was well supported by Cheteshwar Pujara, Vishvaraj Jadeja and Avi Barot scored fifties. On the other hand, Bengal was already under pressure of big total but they came out with a good response but they failed to grab the all-important first innings lead. Sudip Chatterjee, Wriddhiman Saha and Anustup Majumdar scored fifties. And, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja turned out to be the best bowler for Saurashtra, who grabbed three-fer.

Saurashtra players did everything to dismiss Arnab Nandi

One thing that cannot be taken away was the determination of Bengal’s tail that frustrated Saurashtra bowling unit as they were not ready to give away their wicket. At one point, Bengal was struggling for a score of 263 runs with six wickets. But, a brilliant partnership of 98 runs between Arnab Nandi and Anustup Majumdar made life difficult for the opponent bowlers. The way Nandi was batting looked like a wall standing that was difficult to cross. He scored 40* runs off 126 balls. And, his slow inning forced one of the Saurashtra’s players to use black magic on the field.

Actually, in the third last over on Day 4, Jaydev Unadkat’s short-pitched delivery stuck on the hands of Arnab Nandi. And after that, he looked in serious pain due to which the physio had to come out for the treatment. Meanwhile, a player from the Saurashtra cricket team was spotted using his hands and doing black magic on Nandi’s bat, though in a funny manner.

He used his hand like a wand and was murmuring some words from his mouth looking at the willow. Later on, the same player picked the gloves and looked at it for some time. This all happened when Nandi was getting the treatment from the physio after getting hit by a ball.

However, after that incident, Arnab Nandi could add only 12 runs to his previous score before Bengal got dismissed for a score of 381 runs.
