India and New Zealand are up against each other in the first semifinal of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first.

During India's innings, Star indian batter and former team captain, Virat Kohli made a record as he broke Sachin Tendulkar's 49 ODI hundreds record and scored his 50th ODI century. Making this moment special,  Sachin Tendulkar, Virat's hero, was watching and clapping for him in the stands.

The moment took place in the 30th over as Kohli approached the New Zealand players gather during the drinks break. Kohli, known for his camaraderie, casually requested a water bottle from Will Young, who promptly obliged. The incident showcased the amicable relations between Indian and New Zealand cricketers, a bond evident not just through the game but also in shared camaraderie off the field. His friendship with Williamson and the IPL connections among players further underscore the spirit of mutual respect in the cricketing fraternity.

Coming to the match, the Indian team scored 397 runs in their 50 overs, with Kohli and Shreyas Iyer both scoring brilliant centuries. Indian captain Rohit Sharma set the tone after winning the toss and choosing to bat first on a used wicket in Wankhede, Mumbai.

Rohit started the innings strongly, hitting a flurry of boundaries and sixes before being dismissed by Tim Southee after scoring 47 off 29. VKohli then joined Shubman Gill at the crease and continued the momentum, eventually scoring his 50th ODI century. Iyer also played an outstanding innings, scoring 105 runs off 67 balls with four fours and eight sixes. KL Rahul's quick cameo of 39 off 20 helped India reach 397 in their 50 overs.
