While Afghanistan have failed to qualify for the knockout stage of the ongoing World Cup 2023, they surely won hearts with their great game in the ICC tournament. On the other hand, Afghanistan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz is making headlines for good deeds off the field as well.

Recently a video went viral on social media where Gurbaz was silently seen giving money to needy people on the streets of Ahmedabad so they could celebrate Diwali. The batter was seen keeping money silently near sleeping people who were on the streets and then leaving in a car.

Moving to the on-field proceedings, Afghanistan wrapped up a fruitful World Cup with four wins in nine games and sealed the Champions Trophy 2025 qualification. The team which has always been known as bowling-heavy unit displayed some of the very fine batting displays in the World Cup 2023. While Afghanistan registered several victories in the World Cup 2023, their campaign would be vividly remembered for pulling off a great win over defending champions England by 69 runs.

Afghanistan bowed out of the tournament after losing their final league-stage game by five wickets against South Africa in Ahmedabad. Talking of Gurbaz on the personal front, the batter amassed 280 runs in nine outings while averaging 31.11, striking at 98.93. Ibrahim Zadran, in particular, had a great campaign from their unit as the batter registered 493 runs in the World Cup with a century under his belt.

Afghanistan's great display in the mega ICC event would surely boost their confidence for future assignments and they would be thriving to bring in their A-game.
