In the ongoing IPL clash between the Punjab kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, the star pacer, Arshdeep Singh is breathing fire with his splendid spell. In the second match of the Indian Premier League, the PBKS pacer was right on the money for the word go. At the score of 13, he banged with a flurry of bouncer, which took the batter by surprise. Eventually, he ended up mistiming his shot to become the first victim of KKR's run chase.
The PBKS pacer was right on the money for the word go. At the score of 13, he banged in a terrific bouncer to Mandeep Singh, which took the batter by surprise. Eventually, he ended up mistiming his shot to become the first victim of KKR's run chase.
Thereafter, Singh kept things simple by keeping the same approach against the talented batter Anukul Roy. It was on the last ball of the second over, Singh pumped in another short-pitch delivery angled into the body of Roy. Consequently, he ended up giving an easy catch to Zimbabwean Sikandar Raza.
But what transpired next was really interesting. In a typical pace bowler attitude, Arshdeep Singh did not shy away from giving Roy a 'death stare' while celebrating the dismissal as if issuing a warning for the rest of the season ahead and also indicating to not take him on early in the innings. So far, Singh has just conceded 9 runs in two overs along with a couple of wickets to his name.
Punjab Kings have set a 192-run target for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the second match of the IPL 2023
Notably, after winning the toss, KKR skipper Nitish Rana opted to bowl first. However, a thrilling 86-run stand between skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa piloted the Punjab Kings to a huge total of 191/5. In reply, The Afghan stumper-batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, provided a quick start in the first over to the visitors, but Arshdeep Singh's fiery first over in the second over of the innings derailed KKR's run chase.
Currently, KKR are struggling at 80/5 on the board, as they lost half their side in the 11th over. It will be interesting to see how Arsheep Singh finishes his remaining quota of two overs should he get the opportunity to bowl again towards the death stages of the game.
