Sourav Ganguly reckons that Root and Kohli have 'Special Abilities'

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly believes that the manner in which Joe Root and Virat Kohli are batting at the moment, they definitely have some sort of special abilities, to say the least. Ganguly has been quite vocal in his praise for these two batsmen who have been impressive in their own respect across all three formats in recent times as well.

Speaking about the same, Ganguly went on to add that the likes of Tendulkar and others did what they always do by watching the others and their body language and ensuring that they capitalize on where it hurts the most. He also went on to add that this was the ploys employed by the Australian team of the previous decade as well.

“I am sure most batsmen in world cricket do that. If you watch Sachin Tendulkar or Joe Root or one of the best one-day players in the world in different eras. They keep doing that. They react to the bowler’s body language, fielders body language, the opposition captain’s body language.

“That’s why Australia was so hellbent. They kept targeting the captain at the start. These are very common processes but the difference between Virat Kohli and the rest is his batting prowess. He stays calm under pressure. He has chased so well under pressure so many times.”
