Out of favour Indian fast bowler, S Sreesanth was involved in a Helo live session with his fans on Friday. During the interaction, the Kerala born player said that he is going to write his autobiography after announcing his retirement. Currently, the 37-year-old is finishing his ban imposed by BCCI that will end in the month of September this year.
The right-handed fast bowler made his international debut back in 2005. He was aggressive and motivated when he arrived in the scene. Sreesanth attracted spotlight because of controversies instead of his performances on most of the occasions. However, the biggest of all happened in 2013 when he was accused of having involvement in the IPL spot-fixing scandal. Soon after that, he was handed with a lifetime ban by BCCI.
Sreesanth hints at playing cricket for the next five years
In 2019, the Supreme Court overruled the decision of the Indian cricket board and shortened his ban to seven years. Now, he will be ready to get back on the field once again after a long span. Recently, he had also shared his thought on playing for Team India once again in the future irrespective of his age factor.
In the Live session on Helo app, Sreesanth shared his post-retirement plan with the fans. The Indian pacer said that after bidding adieu to all forms of cricket, he will write an autobiography that will revolve around his professional cricket career. He also added that everything related to him will be explained quite clearly in the book.
He signed off his session by saying that cricket might be a game for others. But, for him, it is a reason to live on the planet, “Maybe for some people cricket is a sport, but for me it is breath, it is bread and butter.” Sreesanth told fans.
During the interaction, he also took a dig at Rajasthan Royals and said that they never allowed him to play against Chennai Super Kings after he dismissed former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, in Durban.
“Yes, I wanted to play against CSK and wanted to win against them. But I don’t know the exact reason for keeping me out. In a match at Durban, I bowled MS Dhoni and took his wicket. After that match, I did not get any chance to play against CSK. Team management never gave me a proper reason,” he added.
