Stats: Zimbabwe bowled out for just 67 against Pakistan

Zimbabwe’s misery against the Pakistan bowling continued as the hosts were pummeled by the visiting side’s pacers once again in the 5-match ODI series. After being bowled out for 107 in the first ODI of the series, they put on a relatively better effort in the 2nd match scoring 194 with help of the fifties from captain Hamilton Masakadza and Peter Moor. The target was too less for Pakistan as they chased down it in just 36 overs for the loss of one wicket.

The 3rd ODI turned out to be a nightmare for the hosts as they were bundled out for just 67 runs in 25.1 overs. Faheem Ashraf wrecked through Zimbabwe’s middle-order as they recorded the lowest total in Bulawayo. This was the first instance of a team dismissed for under 100 in an ODI at the Queen Sports Club. The previous lowest total was 107 recorded in the first match of the series. The total of 67 stands among the top seven lowest totals in ODI cricket for Zimbabwe.

Lowest totals for any team against Pakistan in ODI cricket:

Zimbabwe’s total of 67 is also the 2nd lowest for any team against Pakistan in 50-over cricket. The lowest was recorded by New Zealand when they were bowled out for just 64 in the 1986 Sharjah ODI. Before this game, the top three lowest ODI totals for any team against Pakistan have been recorded in Sharjah and the top four in Asia. The previous lowest ODI total against Pakistan outside Asia for any team was 82 by Ireland in the 2016 Dublin ODI.

Zimbabwe holds the record for the all-time lowest total in ODI cricket when they were bowled out for 35 in the 2004 Harare ODI against Sri Lanka. Their total is also among the top five lowest ODI totals made by teams after electing to bat first. The lowest in this list is also on the name of Zimbabwe when they were bowled out for just 44 runs in the 2009 Chittagong ODI.
