Gurinder Sandhu, the fast-bowling all-rounder is currently playing from Tasmania in the Marsh Cup. In a recent game against Queensland, he played the best knock of his List A career but committed a schoolboy error on the cricket field that brought his inning to a halt. And, after the game, many cricketing greats came out in order to slam the Aussie international for his hilarious run-out.

The 26-year-old played for Australia back in 2015. He was sidelined from the team due to his unimpressive performances. Since then he has been trying his level best in order to get into the national squad.

Gurinder Sandhu embarrassed after a hilarious run-out

Tasmania, who hosted Queensland, was struggling at one moment at Blundstone Arena after losing 6 wickets at a meager score of 116 runs. It was the time when Sandhu came into the fray at Number 8. He played out of his skin and smashed his maiden List A half-century but got out in a hilarious fashion. Before getting out, he stitched a partnership of 76 runs with James Faulkner (30 runs off 44 balls).

The hilarious incident came when Sandhu was at 49 runs. In order to score his maiden half-century, he played the ball towards the deep and ran for three runs while going for the third, he almost completed his run but failed to drag his bat at the time when the bails were dislodged by a rocket throw of Charlie Hemphrey from the boundary.

After getting dismissed, he was spotted tapping his head with his hands in anger and looked quite embarrassed for effectuating such an error in the match.

Here is the video:

Allan Border, the former Australian cricketer, who was present in the commentary box at that moment slammed Gurinder for committing a dumb error and ruthlessly said that this is not acceptable at such a big platform.

“Give yourself an uppercut, Gurinder. That’s just dumb cricket. He’s disappointed, as he should be. That’s just stupid. He knows how stupid that little situation is. You’d give an under-10 kid a bit of a kick up the backside,” the former Aussie skipper said in his commentary as quoted by news.com.au

Later on, the match was won by Queensland, who chased down the target in 47.1 overs.
