Sunil Narine names the team he is supporting in FIFA World Cup

The fever of the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia is slowly increasing with every match. Few of the top teams have already taken the field at least once as the tussle between the 32 nations for the ultimate glory has begun. Football is one of the most followed sports across the world and no wonder that even the cricketing fraternity is following the mega event. Windies off-spinner Sunil Narine has opened up on his favourite team in the tournament and has also revealed the player he loves to watch the most.

He was recently involved in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The all-rounder lived up to his reputation and delivered whenever his team needed him the most. With the bat, he provided the team with the best possible starts at the top of the order and then it is no surprise that he is the master when it comes to bamboozling the batsmen with his bowling. Deservedly, he also won the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament award.

In the recent video posted by the official Twitter handle of KKR, Sunil Narine revealed that he is supporting France in the ongoing FIFA World Cup and also went on to say that his favourite player is Lionel Messi who plays for Argentina and is known as one of the best Football players in the world. “I am supporting France in the Football World Cup and my favourite player is Lionel Messi,” he said.

While France didn’t disappoint him and went on to defeat Australia in their first group game by 2-1, Messi underperformed as Argentina were held onto a draw by Iceland. Moreover, the magical legs of Messi missed a straightforward penalty kick which cost them the victory in the end.
